9 sites certified around the world
Following the Huttenheim site a few years ago, the two production sites in Benfeld and the workshop site in Fegersheim have now been ISO 14001 certified by AFNOR. All Socomec industrial sites in Alsace are therefore certified. They join 3 other international industrial sites belonging to the Group that are already certified: two in China and one in Italy. The Group's Spanish and Portuguese sales subsidiaries also have this certification.
According to AFNOR, 14001 certification is proof that the company "has established a culture of attentive listening to stakeholders and takes into account environmental issues at both local level (pollution) and global level (biodiversity, climate change, preservation of natural resources)." It helps to reduce costs, since 78% of those who are ISO 14001 certified enjoy a financial gain at the end of the certification process. It reassures customers and consumers who are concerned about respect for the environment. It also contributes to the respect of the UN's sustainable development targets.
Goal: to develop the environmental performance of the Group
The certification of its industrial sites contributes to improving the Group's environmental performance. The objective: to define and maintain a strict environmental governance system for each of its sites, in order to optimise the environmental performance of the company. The sites are audited each year on their environmental approach. This allows them to assess environmental risks and implement the strategy to address them. This approach is in line with Socomec's long-standing commitments to sustainable development. The company has been a member of the Global Compact since 2003 and has a "GOLD" ranking with Ecovadis, the independent evaluation agency specialising in Corporate Social Responsibility.
